Petronas Carigali SDN BHD is the exploration and operation company, subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) The National oil company of Malaysia. Ranhill-Worley Parsons was appointed as the FEED and detail design engineering contractor.

Kumang Cluster Development Project

Phase 1 consists of F9, Kumang and Kanowit field development. It comprises of a Central Production Platform (CPP) in Kanowit field, drilling platforms for F9 with a subsea well, Kumang and the kanowit subsea wells fields.

The trunk line from CPP to shore is designed to transport 500 MMscfd gas commingled with approximately 22,00 bbl/d condensate with 10% upward margin to meet stream day peaking requirement.

Kumang and F9 are satellite drilling platforms suitable for both Jack-up and tender Assisted Rigs. The drilling platforms are designed for unmanned operation with interconnecting pipelines to the Kanowit field.

Project description

The system is delivered by KOG, completely skid mounted, fabricated, piped, cabled with all valves and necessary instrumentation assembled and tested ready for installation at site by others. The system includes a dedicated flow and supervisory computer system mounted in a computer control panel for installation in a safe area on side.

Scope of supply

KOG provided Petronas Carigali with a complete Gas and Condensate Allocation Metering System that is installed at Kanowit Field platform.

The Oil metering system configuration is as follow:

  • Carbon Steel,900# condensate metering skid with 3x50% meter run configuration with Calibron Small Volume Prover proving method
  • Each run is equipped with a 3” FAURE HERMAN helical turbine flow meter and 4” DBB Plug Type isolation valves for meter run inlet and outlet, prover inlet and outlet.
  • Small Volume prover; Honeywell-Enraf Calibron
  • Fast loop automatic sampling system
  • KROHNE FC5x flow computers
  • KROHNE SynEnergy Supervisory Computer System.

The Gas metering system configuration is as follow:

  • Carbon Steel,900# with a 12” gas ultrasonic flow meter on each run
  • Automatic gas sampling system
  • KROHNE FC5x flow computers
  • KROHNE SynEnergy Supervisory Computer System.
